Two years after originally chasing Storm utility Ben Hampton, the North Queensland Cowboys have finally got their man.
Hampton will join the Cowboys from 2017, although the terms of the deal are unknown.
The 24-year-old has been in Melbourne's full-time NRL squad since 2012, making his debut in Round 15, 2013.
Hampton has played 18 times for the Storm this season, bringing his career tally to 34.
An official announcement of the deal is expected once both clubs complete their finals campaign for 2016.
