Greg Inglis
Still in rugby league limbo

Disgruntled NRL star Greg Inglis has told close friends he is considering walking away from the code to play rugby union for Toulon in the south of France.

Disillusioned over an ongoing $113,000 legal wrangle with the Melbourne Storm, Inglis has confided in members of his inner circle about quitting rugby league for the anonymity of French rugby.

The direct link with Toulon is further enhanced by the connection between Inglis’s agent, Allan Gainey, and the French rugby club.

Gainey has previously done deals with Toulon, inking a two-year contract for former NSW Origin winger Luke Rooney midway through 2008.

South Sydney are understood to be another NRL club closely monitoring the situation.
