Penrith Panthers coach Ivan Cleary denies he’s chasing New Zealand Warriors playmaker Shaun Johnson, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t like him in his team.
There has been plenty of speculation this season that Johnson could be heading to the other side of the Tasman when his contract with the Warriors runs out at the end of next season, with the Panthers and Bulldogs being the clubs he has been linked to the most.
“I can say for sure we haven’t chased Shaun,” Cleary said.
“I would love to have him in my team, but the reality is he’s still playing for the Warriors, he’s still contracted there.”
“It looks like he’s doing a pretty good job to me, so that’s where it’s at.”
