A rejuvenated Danny Buderus has strongly hinted for the first time he is about to commit to a further season at the Newcastle Knights after admitting his three seasons in the English Super League saved his career.
A broken man both physically and mentally when he was forced out of the Knights in 2008, Buderus says he has quickly fallen back in love with the NRL since he came back.
An Origin recall, which is being widely tipped, would cap a stunning return but Buderus is at pains to point out nothing he is doing is personal.
“The only reason I’d love another crack at them (the Maroons) is because I’d do anything to help the Blues,” he said.
As for playing on in 2013 or even beyond that, Buderus said he was planning to have at least another season.
