Kiwi Test star Gerard Beale has put contract talks on hold as he seeks to regain top form after a mixed start to the NRL season with the Brisbane Broncos.
Beale and Broncos forward Ben Te’o are in the sights of several Sydney clubs, with Te’o also linked to a switch to rugby union with the Brumbies.
They are managed by Isaac Moses and it is believed they can get more money by switching clubs. Moses declined to comment when contacted by The Courier-Mail.
Te’o came to the Broncos from Wests Tigers in 2009, and a move back to Sydney or even to Canberra would not be such a huge step for the Auckland-born 25-year-old.
But Beale is Brisbane born-and-raised and admitted it would be tough to leave.
“I love Brisbane. I’ve grown up here and it’s all I know,” he said.
“It would be a big decision to leave.
“But I’m just taking my time with it (contract talks). I’ve got a whole year. I hope to play some good footy first.”
