The Brisbane Broncos have agreed to release front rower Mitch Garbutt from his current contract to take up an attractive offer in the English Super League.
Garbutt has signed a deal with the Leeds Rhinos that will encompass the rest of this year and the 2016 and 2017 Super League seasons.
Garbutt joined the Broncos from the Melbourne Storm at the end of 2014 but injuries in both the pre-season and this year restricted him to just three NRL matches for the Broncos.
His new deal at Leeds will see him join a squad containing former NRL players Brett Delaney, Adam Cuthbertson and former Bronco Joel Moon.
Broncos’ chief executive Paul White wished Garbutt well with his new opportunity.
