Arana Taumata
Released by Panthers

Serial bad boy Arana Taumata has been granted an immediate release from his seventh NRL club, the Penrith Panthers.

The Panthers issued a statement on Tuesday saying they had released 23-year-old Taumata at his request but gave no explanation for the reason behind it.

“The club wishes Arana all the best for his future endeavours, and will make no further comment on this matter,” the club said in a statement.

Taumata was sacked from his first five NRL clubs – Brisbane Broncos, Sydney Roosters, Melbourne Storm, Wests Tigers and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs before being released by the North Queensland Cowboys.
