The Newcastle Herald understands that Uate has knocked back an offer from English Super League club Warrington, and Manly now loom as a possible option.

The retirement of captain Jamie Lyon and expected departure of experienced duo Brett Stewart and Steve Matai are set to leave large holes in the Sea Eagles backline and room in the salary cap.

Uate has a year to run on his contract at the Knights worth $485,000, but has fallen out of favour with coach Nathan Brown and hasn’t played in the NRL since round 12, more than 12 weeks ago.
