Chase staying with Castleford
The Castleford Tigers can confirm that Rangi Chase will be a Tigers player for the 2013 season.
After a potential deal couldn’t be concluded with NRL club the St George Illawarra Dragons, the Tigers were keen to have the matter resolved before the weekend. CEO Steve Ferres has held talks with Chase today and it was mutually agreed that he would remain at the Castleford club.
“We are delighted that the situation has been resolved and we are looking forward to seeing him regain the form that led to him being crowned Man of Steel in 2011,” Ferres said.
“Having spoken to Rangi he is happy to be staying at the club and is meeting with the Castleford physio today to assess his groin injury so he can be ready for the pre-season friendlies in January.”

What a surprise!
A rumoured Dragons signing has fallen through the roof, again!
Or is it jus that they’re all rumours and not truth hahaha
Why am I not surprised that saints couldn’t get yet another one..! Doust couldn’t organise happy endings in a massage parlour, Cyoung couldn’t recruit flies to dog poo and Price couldn’t coach if his life depended on it.. Monkeys would do a better job than these three no hopers, just my opinion..!
Spot on agro, I honestly will make up the new Oust Doust banner on the weekend ready for the first trial game of 2013!
DILLIGAF….don’t need him.
Cheer up Jamie Soward will save you. Maybe Saints will complete the recruitment coup with Harrison after all.
hahahahaahha no one wants to go there!!!!
I’m Glad Panthers could retain the likes of Luke Lewis, Michael Gordon & Sandor Earl. Then sign quality (dragons reject) Wes Naiqama
Yeh but I would have kept Jeremy Latimore, ho hum I hope drinkwater keeps Soward on his toes. Rangi was at the peak of his form so good luck to him, I don’t think we want a player tho that doesn’t have his heart in a transfer deal like molten did last year.
The Panthers have signed Sika manu, Kiwi international Dean Whare, Odonnell from the Knights, Lewis Brown. You want me to keep going??? Get your money on the Dragons for next years spoon!!!!! Maybe Red V Mitch should get some OAK MILK into him!!!
Did Dean Whare play for St George before he went to Manly? I thought I remember hearing about this young hotshot that would be a good replacement for Gasnier. Probably somebody else.
Did we really want him? I have umm’d and ahh’d about this guy coming to our club but in the end I am not too upset about his non signing. He played for us before and he was inconsitent at best and has off field issues as well. Stick with the halves we have now and I reckon people may get a little suprise when the season comes around. I think young Drinkwater and Style will turn a few heads next season.
Well well well I told you choker supporters no 1 will come to your pathetic club
Hee hee hee……
i bet you like he’s
Sorry mate how many times have your pathetic tigers made the finals in the time Tim Sheens was coach?
Who mentioned Tigers?
Mate he did in a previous post!
What a joke, talk about the chokers. Premiership favourites to losers in the blink of an eye. Won 5 games they had no right to and should’ve been battling it out with parra for the spoon.
Robbed=peanut!
Well that’s a surprise maybe Joey Johns can come out retirement and play for us!!!!
what about mundine as he said he is the best player to ever play the game Lol
Hahaha YES!!!!
I’m shocked…Not. I’m sure thanks needs to go out to Doust and crew for a wonderful job they are doing. Let’s hope Drinkwater is the next rookie of the year.
Josh Drinkwater sounds like he has the goods from all reports . Could be the new DCE. Looking forward him linking with Soward. A fit Kyle Stanley should see him grab the No 6 with Drinkwater at No 7.
Drinkwater should definitely be the 7 for you guys next year. I watched a couple of Toyota cup games this year and his kicking game is ridiculous plus he loves taking the line on. He doesn’t mind the contact really tough player.
Fair Dinkum, Cas mustn’t be able to attract any quality players for next year, Chase was ready to walk out on them half way through last season and now he’s a happy camper!.
Just heard that the stmerge chokers are interviewing a 78 93 and a 102 year old.The pensioners are set to agree on a 10 year deal, doust in a statement today was thrilled with the 3 marque signings, they are expected to leave the nursing home in the coming days.just in time for the pre season
robbed 10 11 12 is a perfect example of what happens when cousins mate
or proof that tasmanian’s can swim to the mainland….
I think him and his mother got it on….for sure west coast!!
Leave him alone.
As his name suggests he’s finally learnt how to count from 10 to 12 – using his fingers!!!
…..Hang on I’m wrong!
“Just heard that the stmerge chokers are interviewing a 78 93 and a 102….”
Still using the fingers though!!!
Spot on 10 11 12
bluegirl=retard
At what stage are the three dumb monkeys going to answer for the inept recruitment, lack of vision and fore sight and general running of my club into the ground..? It’s a sinking titanic that needs to be addressed ASAP.. Does Greenberg have a brother..?
Zero tackle, Any news on Bellamy..?
Forget Bellamy forget Jennings foget pearce forget Mortimer forget Harrison forget 2013
West coast dragon, How right you are..
West Coast Dragon don’t under sell your beloved Dragons they have a massive junior base. They look like they have some good quality youngsters coming through in Toyota cup. They will be fine
thanx matthew for having faith wheather your a dragons supporter or not but we cant sign any marquee players to replace the top players that have left and that can more than likeley be attributed to the current coach we still have a number of key position players that are no good or over the hill aswell as that we still cant get a halfback so id like to have faith but it doesnt look gook good from where i sit at the moment and juniors need old heads around them to develop and there is too much of a gap between the juniors and the experience we have lost hey i love the dragons but 2013 is looking pretty grim unless a miracle happens.
As you probably already know I’m a dogs supporter however I do have a soft spot for a number of teams including the dragons. Whilst I understand where your coming from however you still have some handy players such as Creagh, Morris, Nightingale, weyman, King, Cooper and De Belin on your books. You should at the post Bennett era as a rebuilding one. Don’t give up on your Dragons just yet.
Westcoastdragon you should also remember Bennet during his time at the dragons did not go out and sign a host of big names a part from Boyd, Weyman and to a lesser degree Cuthbertson as well as bringing Gasnier back from France. What Bennett did do so well was in still a toughness and self belief into a talent loaded roster.
As for price as coach at least give him another year to see what he can before throwing him under a bus. Taking over from someone like Bennett was always going to be a very steep hill to climb for a rookie coach.
As for your recruitment manager Craig Young the man bleeds red and white and I don’t remember to many supporters complaining about youngy during the Bennett Era. The position of recruitment manager is not an easy one and its not like their a load of quality recruitment managers out there.
yeah but bennett knew how to coach and get the best out of these players, still dont think price has that ability and as for craig young overall he does a good job but even he is not infallable!
Anyway West Coast Dragon I wish your dragons all the best for 2013.
Thanks mate!
If the coach can get the best out the current players and we can get Kyle into half-back then we will be very competitive. Afterall look where we finished this season despite our woeful efforts at times. We lost several close games due to lack of our ability to score, but if we can improve our attack it might not be all doom and gloom. Having Wyman back will be huge and Merrin actually fired up this year. VIf Vidot moves to the forwards we have got some talent. I know people like to slam Sowward but I think he’s a great player but wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn’t cope well when we are going like busteds. He’s a confidence player and I believe he was at war with Price over our attack. Get him firing and things will be a lot better.
I believe the rumours that say if Price doesn’t fire us up by rnd 8 Folkes will take over, so that’s a good incentive. Folkes should have more say anyway this year.
