Cronulla are in advanced negotiations to bring Canterbury forward Tony Williams to the club next season.

The Leader understands the former NSW and Australian back-rower has been offered a one-year deal at the Sharks.

Any announcement of the potential signing is unlikely to be made until both Cronulla and Canterbury finish their finals campaigns.

The signing could force a reshuffle of Cronulla's forward stocks. While Luke Lewis and Paul Gallen are believed to have agreed to terms on new contracts for next season, veteran back-rower Chris Heighington is yet to re-sign with the club for 2017.
