The Parramatta Eels are proud to announce the resigning of Head Coach Brad Arthur for a further two NRL seasons - extending his time with the Blue and Gold until the 2019 NRL season.

Brad Arthur signed his new contract with Eels Chairman Max Donnelly and interim Eels CEO Bevan Paul before tonight’s game against Manly.

Mr Donnelly said that resigning Brad on an extended contract was crucial to ensuring the Club’s future plans can be executed.

“When you have a someone of Brad’s quality in your Club it makes perfect sense to secure that person for the long term,” Mr Donnelly said.

“A key factor in our decision is Brad’s drive and commitment to the improvement of our Club on and off the field. He is always looking at taking our team to the next level and it was essential that he be part of our Club’s plans going forward.

Arthur says the decision to extend his time is because of the confidence he has in the Club’s plans for the future.

“I have been proud of the way our team has managed to front up week in, week out and that comes down the accountability we have shown to each other, the Club and our fans.

“It has been a challenging year but its time to focus on the great opportunity we now have to take our Club in a positive direction."
