Tigers future uncertain now
Tim Sheens was one of Lote Tuqiri’s biggest fans – now the veteran winger has to convince a new coach he is worthy of a new deal at Wests Tigers.
The Tigers are expected to make an announcement on a new coach this week, with Mick Potter and Kevvie Walters the favourites to take over from Sheens when the club returns for pre-season training on November 5.
At 32, Tuqiri is still not signed for next year but the dual international has no plans to call it quits, even if it means changing clubs.
While it remains unknown whether Tuqiri will factor into the new coach’s plans, his manager said there was one guarantee.
“One thing is 100 per cent: regardless of where he may be he will definitely be playing next year,” Giancarlo Lombardo said. “That is not in doubt.”

Wests would do better spending the money upgrading their existing contracts, and holding on to their promising juniors that will be around for several years to come.

Don’t these hasbeens know when to hang up the boots!!Trying to milk another season!
He’s wanting a 2 year deal. What a joke! This bloke is finished. He hasn’t done anything really since coming back from union. Only reason he played for Australia was because of that joke of a coach Tim Sheens.
Time to call it a day Lote better to retire early than be that old guy at training talking about way back when
Like Gus would say… No No No No No… his use by date expired 2 years… go play Rugby in Japan Lote
I’m sure the Wallabies would welcome back Lote. How else are they going to score a try in their so called ‘running game’….pfft.
He is a champion guys lets not turn on our own like those pathetic red v poofs
This guy is so over the hill it’s not funny.. Even the fat lady is laughing now..!
He really does suit the whole Tigers organization, well past it and irrelevant!
