Two-year deal
Penrith Panthers believe they have found a replacement for playmaker Travis Burns with utility Tom Humble this morning announcing he has left the Wests Tigers to become a Panther.
As the player exodus from the Wests Tigers continued despite the appointment of new coach Mick Potter, Humble wrote on Twitter he will join the Panthers on a two-year-deal.
It comes hot on the heels of former Tigers players Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington’s shock moves to Cronulla.
Looking forward to the next 2yrs with the panthers. Will miss the tigers boys and fans but new 1′s to be found in mighty penrith.
— Tom Humble (@TommyHumble) October 31, 2012
Humble now faces a tough battle to win his spot in Panthers coach Ivan Cleary’s top 17 players with Lachlan Coote and Luke Walsh the incumbent halves.

I really wish Tom all the best at the panthers. As a tigers supporter I could not understand why he wasn’t given more chances in our 1st team, especially as they were going pretty ordinary in the halves most of the year. But I think the problem there was Sheens….he has his favourites and just doesn’t give players a chance until its too late…thats why I was pleased to see Sheens sacking, he basically got what he had been doing to the players ie beau , heighny etc etc. Tom all the best, hope you become a star at the panthers.
Thanks for Humble johno. I agree Sheens had his favourites e.g Lawrence Moltzen both should have been dumped due to bad form at least 3 times this year.
This is the guy I wanted. Cootes our 5/8 yes and I like Walsh at halfback but this guy can fill in if ones oout of form. His solid and probably one of the best tigers players last year.
2013 team
1. Roberts Naqiuma Humble Coote
2. Mansour
3. Jennings
4. Tighe/ Eisenuth
5. Whare/ T Robinson
6 Coote Humble
7. Walsh Austin Sejika
8. McKendry/Shackleton
9. Kingston
10. Grant
11. Manu
12. M Robinson
13. Brown
14. Segyaro/ Humble
15. Plum
16. Docker
17. Newton
Plus is probably on 100k a year
As a Dragons supporter i live in the Riff and watch every Panthers home game, looks like a good side and without a doubt top 8 for sure nect year, I might go buy ME A 2013 Panthers jersey as my club are a discrace atm with recruiting over the last 2 years!!
I look at the pathers and know without a doubt they wont make the 8. Luke Walsh is trying to leave the club and he is the closest thing to a halfback they have.
Luke Walsh is trying to leave.YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!We do have under 20′s nsw halfback harry siejka.Who was the first ever person to win the man of the match in a under 20′s origin match.IMO he will represent Australia when he is older.
Harry played some NRL matches is why he was chosen for the under 20′s origin. Hes average at best. Just look at Moga scored 30 tries as a centre in toyota cup wasnt it. Scored 1 try in his debut season. Will never play for his state again let alone Australia get real.
Are you serious, Panthers Territory. If that is true then that is great.
.
@Hot tips
No Harry Seijka is a much better player than Luke
. I think that is why Luke is trying to leave.
.
@Jennings Fan
I would remove Walsh, replaced with Seijka, Newton replaced with VTK and Plum with Moses Pangai.
The Pennies are starting to come together well. Plenty of depth now, and thats were we have lacked big time over the past couple of years. Good times to come!!!
Great signing but don’t see him getting much game time – Coote was a revelation at 5/8 and the powers to be at Penrith have delusions that Walsh can actually play football… Austin is more a 5/8 than a HB and will be battling Coote for the spot – It’s my opinion that Seijka should be our No 7 next season and Walsh take a back seat – With Coote and Seijka in the halves and a full pre-season under their belts, I think they will tear up opposition teams next season
The Panthers will be a team to watch next year. All they need to do is get the combinations right and they hve brought in experience like Naqama and Manu.
Hopefully they can gel well as a team.
Im predicting the Panthers will be a top 8 team next year
My team would be this
1. J. Mansour
2. T. Robinson
3. M. Jennings
4. D. Whare
5. W. Naiqama
6. L. Coote
7. H. Seijka
8. S. McKendry
9. K. Kingston
10. T. Grant
11. C. Newton
12. S. Manu
13. L. Brown
14. N. Plum
15. M. Robinson
16. A. Docker
17. J. Segearyo/T. Humble
Spot on the money. I would have Walsh and Sejika swapping every few games.
Penrith 2013 prediction
1. Lachlan coote
2. Michael Jennings
3. Dean Whare
4. Wes Naquiama
5. Josh MAnsour
6. Blake Austin
7. Luke Walsh
8. Tim Grant
9. Kevin Kingston
10. Sika Manu
11. Sam Mckendry
12. Clint Newton
13. Lewis Brown
14. James Segyaro
15. Tom Humble
16.Adam Docker
17. Jeremy Latimore
McKendry in the 2nd Row??? I think you have Manu and McKendry swapped….?
No way Jennings will be on the wing…if penrith are keeping Jennings and pay him huge $$$ he will be playing his natural position.
Will not make the eight.
What team do you support, hammerhead? The sharks maybe.
LOL panthers girl…you must be a genius
@Ocelot
I was being sarcastic.
.
Penrith have no clue. Will not make the eight. everything Gus does turns sour.
Disagree – IMO we didnt have the players to be a credible team this season (2012) but have signed well and (fingers crossed) a few low skilled players *COUGH* Walsh *COUGH* get replaced with better players – I think we will do pretty well – Im not saying the premiership but will at least put up a fight for a top 8 spot
Still no sign of Harold Holt for many, many more years to come for shark fans.
I think Whare may get the fullback nod. Kyle O’Donnell will add to his “knock out” 1st grade performances too.
Whare Mansour Jennings Tighe Naiqama Coote Walsh
M.Robinson Brown Manu McKendry Kingston Grant
Segeyaro Docker O’Donnell Weston
Good signing, i can see him as a injury replacement for coote or walsh.
Haters should shut up, as a Tigers fan i agree that Gus and Cleary are turning the Panthers around just look at these signings
Sam Anderson (Newcastle Knights, 2013), Lewis Brown (New Zealand Warriors, 2015), Ethan Cook (Newcastle Knights, 2014), Tom Humble (Wests Tigers, 2014), Maurice Kennedy (2013), Jeremy Latimore (St George Illawarra Dragons, 2014), Sika Manu (Melbourne Storm, 2015), Wes Naiqama (Newcastle Knights, 2014), Kyle O’Donnell (Newcastle Knights, 2014), Moses Pangai (North Queensland Cowboys, 2014), James Roberts (2014), James Segeyaro (North Queensland Cowboys, 2015), Dean Whare (Manly Sea Eagles, 2014)
You know you are lying to yourself if you say you would not want all those players.
sorry, but they’re all terrible fringe first graders.
Wish humble the best of luck. Penrith seem to be picking up any young player another club is discarding. I dont think they have a immediate plan to fix for the lack of talent at the club so they are setting up a long term plan. Hopefully they can start spine locked in for afew years. Id go with 1.Jennings 6.Coote 7.Austin 9.Kingston 13.Brown
@Paulie
Lack of talent, that is your opinion.
.
Agree with Paulie that Austin will be given a go at halfback sometime. He does not appear big enough to play in the forwards but with his size ,speed and attacking skills could be very good in that position. Halfbacks dont all have to fit the mole of ball distributor eg, Hasler,Raudonakis,Langer,Billy Smith and Bobby Bugden. The previous generation of Austins that played for the Toongabbie Tigers were not big boys before they moved out further west around Doonside.
I also am of the opinion that the Panthers are building a team of workers with ability to cover multiple positions -Mansour, Whare,Tighe,Coote, Brown, M Robinson,Latimore,Segeyaro.
Thirdly after seeing how Canterbury have managed to blend a very average tackler into their team and place that brilliant runner into the 2nd row in defence, then I would not be upset if Sammut returned to the Panthers. Wasnt a fan of his in NRL and because of his size ,he copped it in defence. I cant deny he did try to tackle headon so if its the new aspect of the game that pure attacking players have a place then so be it.
Team in 2013:
1.Moylan(Humble will be a replacement if he gets injured)
2.Mansour
3.Jennings
4.Whare
5.Roberts
6.Coote
7.Siejka
8.Grant
9.Kingston
10.Mckendry
11.Brown
12.Manu
13.Austin
14.Segeyaro
15.O’Donnell
16.Robinson
17.Adam Docker
18.Vaipuna Tia Kilifi
KoroWoW you are kidding.most of them are second stringers.I’m Sorry your a tigers fan as that is embarrassing in itself.Ok I admit had it wrong before tigers wooden spoon Panthers second last
What team do you support hammerhead?
lol Warriors supporter and talking, have fun next year digging though the tunnel trying to find light with the wooden spoon.
Not penrith or the tigers
Once Jennings goes next year it is virtually a reserve grade side.Have gone backwards under clearly. got rid of Elliott who will have the Warriors prime to kick some serious panther butt
@Hammerhead
I’ve said this before and I will say it again, if Michael was going to go he would’ve by now
. Seriously just grow up.
.
Jennings: I want to be a one club person so i can play with my brothers in the future in the panthers jersey.
Retards: NOPE UMMMMM HE’S STILL LEAVING, DERP DERP A DERP!
Me: *Facepalms*
“got rid of Elliott who will have the Warriors prime to kick some serious panther butt”
BWAHAHAHAHAHA So you are a warriors fan.Elliot and the warriors are going to kick butt BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Oh my god thank you for the good laugh.
Is this the same Matthew Elliot who destroyed our club, along with the incompetent management? Ha! It’s been fun giving it to Warriors fans lately, you’re next!!
The Matt Elliot they signed back ended deals. Mckendry on 450k WTF……
Not a warriors fan.
Jennings is going mark my words.
Panthers are the rejects of the league
@Hammerhead
Lmao, that is the Sharks and you.
.
Falou to the eels 2013 Jennings eels 2014.
Panthers the sad team of sydneys west.
Hopoate eels 2014. will be a pretty decent back line come 2014
Guess you idiots will never learn. We’ll just have to wait till then so you can feel like a retard when he is still playing with the panthers. And the rejects are cronulla.
Yeah mate, rejects are totally cronulla. That’s why your captain, the Australian rep, left for them.
@Ray
Really the Panthers are better off without that prima donna aka Luke Lewis
.
had no idea that parramatta were exempt from the salary cap
Wrong again. He will not be a panther in 2014.
As I am not a cronulla however they have done well.
Michael Gordon ,Luke Lewis,Wade Graham all woke up to themselves.they will be better of there than playing for penrith and the wooden spoon.reserve grade side with a reserve grade coach.
Hammerhead one thing for sure your a tosser
Well Panthers fans, time to put your money where your mouth is.Your ticketed membership numbers are a joke for such a large area and junior competition, let’s be honest would any of those signings put bum’s on seats with other club’s?
Panther Power likes the team a bunch of sooks.
Lewis,Gordon,Graham must have hit a nerve however the truth.
Good luck next year as your going to need it.
If the Panthers can mould Jennings into a bit of a ball player and then play him at fullback, he may be worth his price tag. This would be my team:
1. Mansour
2. Roberts
3.Whare
4. Jennings
5. Naiqama
6. Coote
7. Walsh
8. Mckendry
9. Kingston
10. Grant
11. Manu
12. Brown
13. Austin
14. Segeyaro
15. Latimore
16. Weston
17. Tia Kilifi
You have a great side picked out. I wouldnt have brown in the second row his abit short. Prob at Lock or off the bench with Matt Robinson starting second row. I would have Docker and Newton in for Weston and Latimore. I like the backline alot tho.
my panthers 2013 squad
1. Mansour
2. Whare
3. Jennings
4. Tighe
5. Simmons
6. Coote
7. Siejka
8. Grant
9. Kingston
10. Mckendry
11. Manu
12. Brown
13. Plum
14. Shackleton
15. Newton
16. Ciraldo
17. Humble
Segeyaro?
Are you even a panther fan?? Simmons Tighe Ciraldo Humble wont be in over the likes of Segyaro Matt Robinson Roberts Travis Robinson etc
Would not win the reserve grade
As a Raiders fan i want the the Raiders to win but i still can’t wait to watch them play but at the same time they might struggle because they have no type of leader
Kingston Grant Manu Brown Newton are all older players with leader skills.
Hammerhead your comments proove you don’t know shit from clay! One thing for sure we will be a force once again
Spelling prove like that shows me what panthers fans are like. they have no chance. another terrible year.Cleary to be first coach sacked 2013.
Haven’t revealed your club yet, who is it? I’ll correct your grammar: *Spelling proves, not prove. Cheers
Who do you think our best signing is?
Also who do you think will improve the most?
Best signing…… Segyaro or Manu
Improver………. Docker or Jennings
@Jennings Fan
Best signing is either James Roberts or Moses Pangai. Improver Matt Robinson.
.
Wrong again. I am a Aussie. Panthers supporters need to get a life.
By the way, it’s I am an Aussie not a Aussie as the next word starts with a vowel.
Titans?Bulldogs?Storm?
@Hammerhead your the one that needs a life mate, you’re on the net acting like a low life, seriously just grow up dude.
It’s Parramatta.
Hammerhead prob a knights in white satin girl
Gunna say my team with an explanation which makes sense.
1. Matt Moylan ( Hmmmmm i just find that he is the best fit at fullback. Where i put Whare Roberts and Mansour is there natural position)
2. Josh Mansour (No Brainer. The amount of meters he makes a game you must be stupid to leave him out)
3. Lewis Brown (Good player but no real position for him to fit. Try him in the centres if it doesnt work it doesnt work)
4. Dean Whare ( Another No Brainer. Break through season and even got to represent his country)
5. James Roberts (I belive he can have a great season and produce a Ben Barba like player. Another young player who needs a chance in first grade. His playing style is like his uncles)
6. Lachlan Coote ( Great back end half of the season. Hes change to 5/8 did change alot of peoples opinions.)
7. Tom Humble ( know real other half besides walsh. Walsh needs a few games in NSW cup first. If we somehow can get Folau i think Coote 2 half Folau 2 5/8)
8. Kyle ODonnell (Hmmmmm. Mckendry was disappointing this year. he need needs to start playing off the bench until hes back to good form.)
9. Kevin Kingston (2012 player of the year, and that is all i have to say, u must be stupid to leave him out.)
10. Tim Grant (do i have to say anything?)
11. Sika Manu (probably the gest signing since petro. One of the hardest running players in the game)
12. Matt Robinson( Great debut season, consistent every game must start)
13. Vapiuna Tia Kalifi ( i dont kbow if he is the roght man to start in lock. Remember he is still young.)
14. James Segeyaro (great player i thnk everyone will put himin your team)
15. Sam Mckendry ( disappointing season still better than most though)
16. Shane Shackleton ( i still think he has some good years left in him. He should get a chance)
17. Dayne Weston ( probably the hardest runner in the game this year)
Mate you can’t just put any player into any position and expect the team to work. Folau at 5/8? You need players who play THEIR POSITION.
Siejka at halfback.
@Panther03
You left out Michael Jennings.
.
@hammerhead. stop trolling you muppet. I am Penrith boy born and bred, a winner of a university medal (i.e assigned only to the top academic student) and i guarantee on a much higher wage than you
enjoy your childish sledging though – whatever makes you feel good lol
For me our best lineup is
1. Moylan
2. Mansour
3. Jennings
4. Whare
5. Roberts
6. Coote
7. Humble
8. Grant
9. Kingston
10. McKendry
11. Brown
12. Manu
13. Austin
14. Weston
15. V.Tia Kilifi
16. Segayaro
17. M.Robinson
You run two successful business yet cannot use proper grammar? I hope making up lies makes you feel better about yourself. You’re happy to troll others who are proud of there team, no matter the outcome, yet you do not have the balls to state who you support. Tricking centrelink to get two payments does not count as owning two businesses. Get a job and life. Penrith for life!
Id go with this line up for 2013.
Moylan
Mansour
Jennings
Whare
Naiquama
Coote
Humble
Docker
Shackleton (Very underated player)
Manu
McKendry
Segayaro
Grant
Brown
Weston
Robinson
Odonnell
In 2012 the forward pack was completely dominated physically sending in weak backrow combinations such as ciraldo, newton and simpkins. The team needs more size and mongrel upfront and the addition of edge runners like manu and robinson.
Humble is a solid player no world beater however his defence is much better than walsh’s and that is sorely needed for 2013.
Randy81 stop being a sook. I would put my wage vs yours anyway. A penrith BOY would work for someone,I however own 2 successful businesses. Put your money where your mouth is.I Guarentee you now penrith will not make the eight and I will put money on it.My team however will be definately in top 4. Go and eat some cement and harden up
How am i having a sook? you made a generalisation that all Penrith fans are bogans. I have simply pointed out that it is not the case.
I am 31 years old, a senior civil engineer earning 120k+. Does it matter that i work for someone else?
I am happy to put my money where my mouth is. How does $50 sound? and how do you want to play this? Happy to meet up when the teams play each other or exchange details. Your choice.
Get prepared to lose some money then lmao.
Ricky so where clear I do not make up lies.Mate how about you put your money where your mouth is for Penrith and I will do the same for the mighty Bulldogs. penrith will not make the eight!!! I will put money on the panthers for the wooden spoon in 2013. I have a opinion which I’m entitled to . stop sooking as I know the truth hurts
Penrith top 8 for sure. But mansour is numer1
@Bob
I would put Josh in the second row and Matt Moylan in at fullback.
.
No.Just No.
Agree
I think humble can make a strong surge for Walsh’s number 7 spot I’d like to know what penrith aim to do with the extra 700,000 for next season
Saving up money for Thurston
I hope not bring on someone younger
Can’t reply to Dougie Gardiner but fair dinkum you’ve won the ‘Wanker Of The Day’ award for your comment.
He was only on a basic contract at the Tigers and mate he has to earn a quid while he can, the moderators should remove posts from imbeciles like you, get a life.
Randy81 why $50 why not $500.You say you are on that much money $500 should be a breeze. bulldogs vs panthers . what do you say
So you are a Dogs supporter.Mate i have really had an ‘earful’ of your crap.Seriously keep munching on those kebabs!
$100 and a deal. I sit bay 5 eastern terrace, row 2 seat 14.
Meet me there whenever the dogs play at penny park and we will sort the details.
@Hammerhead
lol a doggies supporter now that doesn’t suprise me.
Ray
You do realise folau has been in the afl for 2 years. Hes position has probably changed.
Panthers Girl
Yea im not sure if he will be here :/
@Panther03
Michael will be here.
I don’t think Luke Walsh will be thou.
.
Seriously Penrith supporters. put your Money where your mouth is. As for the Doggies , Burt you know you can’t say to much as 2013 it will bite you on the arse.
As for Randy81 I don’t live in Nsw however $100 is like change to me. min bet $500 and we will work out details.
Don’t be scared like the mountain men.
gees you can bullshit.
If it is just change then lets roll. My email is [email protected]
You have claimed to put money on:
(a) Penrith to finish last
(b) Penrith to miss 8
$50 each bet. Got my details, seat number. What more do you want you chicken shit.
Randy81 $500 each bet no mucking around.
Chicken- Grow up
If your confident as I am with the Dogs you would put your money where your mouth is.
Enough has been said
Time to walk the walk
I just have put my money where my mouth is you idiot. Yeah sure you can afford $500 each, why not make it a million, 2 million?. Just keep plucking high figures out.
I said 120k not 200k. I am on a decent wage but still have a mortgage you halfwit.
I am deadly serious and have provided contact details – you have just provided dribble.
The offer is there. My email is there. I have detailed where we can meet , the exact location of my season ticket.
You could offer the same……or just another lame catch phrase.
@Randy81 respect mate. As for fully sick hammerhead, its so we’re clear, not where. We’re means we are, where refers to a place. I know English is your second language, but attempting to offend people works better when you can use correct grammar.
1)naigama
2) whare
3) Jennings
4)Roberts
5) Tighe
6)cotte
7)Walsh
8)McKendry
9) Kingston
10)manu
11) lattimore
12) Anderson
13)brown
bench
14)(segearo) (humble)
15)cook
16)grant
lol
the only thing gay is your spelling and lack of knowledge lol.
There is 17 players not 16….Second row in front row and vice versa…..spelling mistakes deluxe. I know it is a joke, but come on you can do better than that.
Do you work at one of Hammerhead’s two successful companies?
what’s up with people and spelling we ain’t having a spelling comp it’s a league forum
if you have a valid point, then i won’t give a toss about spelling. In this instance, the post was just dribble
Randy81 you are a complete Tosser.
Did you read the paper last week.?
Panthers favourites for wooden spoon.
1 bet of $500 bulldogs vs penrith.Man up halfwit mortgage or not
Wow favourites, that is amazing!. Btw we were also favourites in 2003 for the spoon. Talk in papers mean nothing.
So you are willing to bet $500 on the defending minor premiers to beat a low ranked team?. How brave of you!. I never said we would win the comp, never said top 4, never said would beat dogs – just not last.
As i have said over and over – MY CONTACT DETAILS ARE PROVIDED. You stated that you are willing to put money on us being last and i have accepted. Details are set and you can email me anytime.
You have repeatadly avoided the request for contact details so i will not be responding in this thread unless you email me…………………..waiting………………….waiting………………
