New contracts could be needed
The Gold Coast Titans players may be forced to sign new contracts under company changes at the troubled Gold Coast rugby league club.
Football sources suggest the club, which has new backers, will seek to change its company name.
“That will mean every contract under the original business name will need to be changed. So they will need to be renegotiated,” a source close to the club told The Bulletin.
Sports agents were unaware of the planned move, with their Titans clients still overseas on an end-of-year trip in Las Vegas.
The families of young players also had no knowledge of any changes to the club’s structure.

does this mean everyone on there roster has to sign new contracts? cause im really confused :/
Does that make the players available ?
theres gonna be alot of “ins and outs” next year for the titans :/
Nate Myles would be happy, he would be due for an upgrade, if he had to sign a new contract.
Another name change for a club that has had more name changes as Elizabeth Taylor has had marriages. Name change still doesn’t change the fact that they appear to have major financial issues.
This is somewhat true, but highly over exaggerated. The Titans main sponser Jet Star is now officially quitting and the Titans are being taken over by iSelect. iSelect’s former CEO David May is now the Titans CEO. Nothing is entirely wrong, and the people’s contracts will be higher and lower, but we’ll keep the same people. I just hope that Taylor’s contract is lowered as well with Zillman’s…
All due respect Titan Riley I don’t believe the Titans financial situation over exagerated especially if the amounts of money owed that were highlighted in the media earlier in the year are true. One has to wonder what would have happened if the club were not able to sell their centre of excellence. Same centre of excellence club officials at the time were hailing and using as a tool to attract new talent.
I think we can all agree that the Centre of Excellence is the best NRL training facility in Australia. Being that said, yes we sold a portion of it, but that’s not what you’ve been hearing. One quater of the building was sold for a large amount of money, an amount I’m unsure of. The only problem the Titans seem to have that the other teams do not, is that we don’t have a leagues club. Leagues clubs generate so much money for a club it’s not even funny, considering we have 600’000 people on the Gold Coast, which I’m sure 200’000 support the Titans as our Facebook page has 100’000+ fans plus older people without Facebook. We have a large support base, and when the club is firing we get 20’000 home games, unfortunately in the past 2 years we haven’t done well, infact at home we have gone absolutely terrible (our away record was better then our home), hopefully next year, or with this possible ‘clean-out’ we can get back on our feet. I for one will be a Titans fan for life, and I would honestly hate to see them kicked out of the NRL. But I think with all this money the NRL is generating that won’t happen, and when we manage to get a Leagues club or something along the lines of a Leagues club, the Titans won’t have to worry about financial issues.

That’s probably the right team, although I think James might be added to the squad and either Ridge or O’Dwyer will be dropped (most likely O’Dwyer if James does get put into the side).
Sounds like a good way for the club to have a “clean-out”.
Who is potentially a free agent then? This could get more than a little bit interesting.
