Signing could be imminent
The Gold Coast Titans are on the verge of signing highly-rated English fullback Matthew Russell.
The Bulletin can reveal the Titans are in the final stages of negotiations with the 19-year-old, who is considered to be one of England’s rising stars, and could possibly announce Russell’s signing as early as today.
Russell has been stuck behind English superstar Sam Tomkins in the pecking order at the Wigan Warriors, where he managed to play two Super League matches this year.
If Russell linked with the Titans, he would still be eligible to play in the 2013 under-20 National Youth Competition next year.

My god I have no idea why no one went for O ar Slaimankhel its sad we lost him to Union. Titans couldve picked him up cheap and he was the best fullback in Toyota Cup. Hes better than Russell. Titans lost a golden opportunity
Umm plenty of teams went for Slaimankel but no team could match a $600,000+ 2 year deal that he got from Japanese rugby. In what universe could the Titans have picked him up cheap?

I agree Omar was an awesome player so the titans should have picked him up. But This Russell dude sounds good if they can get him . I’m a titans fan so I hope they make the eight next year
Honestly Zillman is a great attacking fullback, but seriously lacks in defence, I think that he is in a way similar to Barba last year, in the way of his attacking yet he lacked hugely in defence. If Cartwright can get his defence up to scrap you’ll see Zillman in Blues colours…. keep in mind he was selected for Prime Ministers XIII

this guy was on loan at our club this season and already has the talent to do great,for his age,experience,was fantastic,wasnt fazed at all and very eager to really attack oppo defences .but what id love to see is this guy in a year or 2 because id class him as really good prospect,and would gladly have him back at our club
