Released from Titans contract
The Gold Coast Titans have confirmed skipper Scott Prince will no longer be with the club but will stay with the NRL. It comes after Prince turned down an offer from Hull FC after an NRL side tabled a “significant and much larger” last-minute bid.
Titans CEO David May said in a press conference this morning: “Scott yesterday asked for a release from the final year of his contract, and after a day of discussions we reluctantly agreed to that release yesterday evening, so Scott will not be a player with us next year.”
“I can also confirm he is not going to Hull… And he will be staying in the NRL.”
“I do not however know with which club.”
It comes as speculation is rife that the Brisbane Broncos are the front-runners to sign the skipper, with some even suggesting a deal had already been done.

Eh… This can be a fresh start for the Titans, something we have needed since 2011. We need to re-invent our back-line and this is the start that needed to happen.
Yes! We need a player like Scott to replace Norman/Wallace. He is easily one of the best Halb-Backs in the NRL at the moment. Just inconsistency and injury is his problem. If he can stay fit and healthy say hello to Brisbane 2013 premiers.
Haha I bet you didn’t think as highly of Prince yesterday. He’s a good player but he didn’t win us a premiership, and we have a much stronger forward pack then the Broncos.
Hahaha the Titans don’t have a better forward pack then the Broncos…
Hannant, Petero, Glenn, Thaiday and Parker kick ass!
Um…
Hannant (he’s okay), Petero (plays 17 mins a game and does nothing), Glenn (Okay), Thaiday (Overrated) and Parker (Okay
Compared to Bailey, Myles, Taylor, Bird and Harrison I think the Titans are much better.
Well maybe the Titans forward pack is a little better…
Riley your forward pack is SOFT. It will only get softer with the bid teddy bear Taylor next season.
Hahaha it isn’t soft, that’s why the Titans beat you this year with our ‘soft’ forward pack…
Where did your “hard” forward pack end up mate? Sipping Lattes while the dogs went to the GF. Getting a few awards and rep jerseys along the way. Outside of Myles and Bird, they are a bunch of wimps.
The Bullgrubs forward pack is pretty soft aswell.
Broncos are the strongest without doubt…
Let’s just get back on topic…
I wish Princey a good two years with who ever he goes with, and up the Titans!
The Titans have a better forward pack then the broncos ….. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that’s the funniest thing I’v ever heard
The broncos have a great forward pack. They are strong and yet they still have a lot of agility and are quite fast. Most of brisbanes forwards are able to also play centre which Is great incase of injuries. And josh Maguire, polar bear, thiaday, an Parker are certainly not soft. I have a few questions though. Is yow yeh going to be back next year? And would prince play half or 5/8? Maybe move Wallace to 5/8? He did play is through out his juniors.
8. Luke Bailey (NSW & Australia)
9. Matt Srama (Phillipenes 2012)
10. Nate Myles (QLD & Australia and Dally M 2nd Rower of the year 2012)
11. Dave Taylor (QLD & Australia 2012)
12. Greg Bird (NSW & Australia 2012)
13. Ashley Harrison (QLD 2012)
8. Ben Hannant (QLD & Australia 2012)
9. Andrew McCullough (NOTHING)
10. Petero Civenoceva (QLD & Australia 2012)
11. Alex Glenn (New Zealand)
12. Sam Thaiday (QLD & Australia and Third Man in Award winner 2012)
13. Corey Parker (QLD 2012)
Pretty similar in representative and club level abilities, only the Titans aren’t grubs.
Firstly. Andrew McCollough is shit. I prefer Ben hunt at hooker then him. And Ben hunt isn’t a hooker lol. I’m sick of McCollough, he is such a selfish player. Secondly, playing for the Philippines isn’t much of a achievement. I work with a guy called Jason wright. Who is a plumber who tried out for the Philippines team and made it in there top 25. He played div 4 for the browns plains bears and had basically no skill. So that point is invalid. And how are the broncos grubs? Have you seen Greg bird play? He is one of the biggest grubs in the game!
Alright, but I’d rather have Bird then Glenn, Harrison then Parker, Myles then Petero, that’s 3 to their 2. And that’s not biased.
Yes, I would also prefere myles to petro, (but that doesn’t matter cause petro is no longer there, and josh Maguire will be a state of origin player next year, well at least he should be) and Harrison and Parker are both getting a bit old, and we have gillett the replace Parker, and I honestly have no idea who is around to replace Harrison, but are they a maroons player? And also I’d prefere glen over bird. Just my opinion.
Alex Glenn will only get better. Corey Parker is still rock solid and should be the captain. Dugong boy (Sam) is a top notch forward but Nate miles would be my pick anyway of the week.
Mate alex glenn better then bird.
broncos are not grubs and bird is a massive grub
Yeah u gotta keep those glass bottles away from birdie don’t want him hittin no females , along side myles shitting in hallways…
Coming from a team that consists of a biter and the man labelled as the NRL grub (Reynolds)
@HFiteni I agree about having Maguire as a QLD player next year but I’d rather Bird to Glenn, but that’s your opinion against mine, so I’ll respect your opinion.
@titans Riley thanks.
But to my two questions though.
Will yow yeh be back for next year?
And if prince has signed with the broncos, then will he play half and move 5/8? What does everyone think?
I’m not sure if Yow Yeh will be back, if he has recovered then yes.
Prince will play 5/8 and I think Norman should drop back to Fullback and Hoffman should be out.
Yes I totally agree that the broncos should drop Hoffman. And McCollough while we are at it. But that wouldn’t be a bad idea slotting Norman at fullback. He suits the role more then 5/8 and Hoffman is just not good enough and too injury prone.
NO! Bring Frisby up ! don’t get Prince!
Hahahaha titan riley…. We hav a representitive pack the titans are all has been except for myles the best signing they made in their history has been still preston campbell
No big loss to the titans and no big gain if he goes to the broncos
He brings experience and he does have a fair bit of skill. It’s just unfortunate he is so inconsistent :/ hopefully he can have a good two years.
i think prince would do better in a consitant team like the dogs
What a way to treat a player? =P. The Broncos have a good player on their hands now. =D.
Titans are not a loyal team.
Sat here with a cuppa tea and ive got to say this is without a doubt a much better read than a good book. I’m a novice when it comes to the internet as well as making comments, i dont have the time due to working all hrs. I find your web site extremely interesting and i have added it to my book marks, ill pop back again in the future. Keep up the excellent work.
I wanted to create you a little bit of observation to thank you as before for your beautiful solutions you have provided on this site. It is so strangely open-handed of you to present freely just what numerous people might have marketed for an e-book in order to make some money for themselves, even more so seeing that you could have done it in case you wanted. Those things likewise worked to become a good way to be sure that other people online have the identical zeal like my personal own to see lots more in regard to this problem. I’m sure there are several more enjoyable moments ahead for many who read carefully your site.
