Melbourne Storm stars have implored coach Craig Bellamy to remain in Melbourne long term as rival clubs circle their in-demand coach.
Bellamy remains contracted until the end of next season, but it has not stopped NRL clubs from trying to poach the former NSW clipboard holder. The New Zealand Warriors are one of many suitors for his services, while the Sydney Roosters only appointed Trent Robinson from 2013 after it became apparent they could not wait on Bellamy to see out his current contract.
Senior players said they were desperate for Bellamy to continue his 10-year tenure in Victoria.
Representative forward Ryan Hoffman said it was hard to imagine a Melbourne Storm club without the man affectionately known as "Bellyache".
