Could Sheens be the next Warriors coach?
A rookie or an out-of-favour super-coach.
Those appear to be the options for the New Zealand Warriors as the search for the next first-grade coach at Mt Smart Stadium nears its finale.
Former Kiwis international David Kidwell has emerged as the front-runner for the job.
It is understood the Storm assistant coach has had two interviews with the Warriors, and is in a prime position to take the coach role that has been vacant since the club sacked Brian McClennan in mid-August.
However, the effective sacking of Tigers boss Tim Sheens yesterday also presents the Auckland club with a late opportunity to nab the man with four premierships on his CV.
The duo seem the likely options for the Warriors, with long-touted targets Justin Morgan and Stephen Kearney withdrawing from the race in the past 24 hours.
The Warriors should sign Sheens ahead of Kidwell because he has way more experience and he would mould these young players into better players.
Look at what he done at the Raiders in his tenure there he moulded players like Mal Meninga,Ricky Stuart,Bradley Clyde,Gary Belcher,Laurie Daley and even our own Ruben Wiki.
Sheens will bring alot to the Warriors and he has a habit of getting the best out of the Polynesian boys
If they take Kidwell then Kearney should come back to the Storm pretty simple..

Kearney is over rated as a coach.The Kiwis wouldnt have won the World Cup if it wasnt for Wayne Bennet.
if the Tigers were to have Mal Meninga he wouldnt be able to coach the MIGHTY MAROONS.
It will be interesting to see who the Tigers will name as there coach for next year.

Warriors need to take sheens over Kidwell. Kidwell is a thug e.g willie mason incident ) why do we want him as a coach he is ill disciplined as a player therefore may come through in his coaching which the warriors dont need as we give enough penalities away as it is , and has NO EXPERIENCE as a NRL COACH , and will have no discipline over the Polynesian players , we need a coach who has experience , won’t take any sh*t from players being lazy etc and knows how to win a premiership therefore Tim sheens is the man for the job, if not sheens what’s wrong with D Anderson?

Jabroni, get rid of the board… now you’re talking… I mean, who the HELL didn’t get off their arse and re-sign Beau Ryan who was our best back this year by far. And losing Heighington… just bloody stupid. I’m still annoyed that we let J. Mullaney go to the Eels last year… He was a great up and coming fullback in the under 20s for a couple of years and we just let him go after already letting go Shannon Gallant… Sign the bloody youngsters, who ever is responsbile, do your bloody job
Tiger Tiger i reckon they cant blame Sheens and your right J Mullaney shouldnt have gone to the Eels.i dont know why the hell they got rid of Beau Ryan and Chris Heighnington who have been a good asset ot the Tigers i just hope they dont lose the likes of Farah and Marshall.
Your right Tiger Tiger they should be signing the youngsters and develop the youngsters in the under 20s and sg ball etc
