Sonny Bill Williams has all but confirmed he will be at the Sydney Roosters next year, but before that he has another huge challenge on his hands – fighting South African heavyweight Francois Botha at the end of next month.
Speaking from Japan, Williams told me there were no more details to be finalised with the Bondi-based club and he had always intended to honour his handshake deal with Roosters supremo Nick Politis.
”It’s a done deal. I made it a long time ago,” he said. ”I know where I’m playing next year and I’m ready to meet the challenge head-on. There’s no more negotiations that need to be done.”

Agrothedragon wouldn’t hold your breath in hoping Sonny Dill Williams stays injury free especially given his ordinary boxing career against washed up and over weight has beens. More than likely to walk out on the roosters in the middle of the night than staying injury free.
When someone plays as hard as Sonny does, who fights in every tackle, gives 100% and hits as hard as Sonny does then there is always more chance of them getting injured. The same thing applied to Laurie Daley and Brad Clyde especially when they were young.
Someone like Soward stays injury free, but he is afraid of the physicality of rugby league, that is why he stays injury free.
Time will tell.

You will have to watch him closely then when he comes back. He could be the best backrower I have ever seen in watching footy closely over 30 years. He is way better than Gallon ever will be. He has the most complete game a backrower has ever had. Young Brad Clyde is the only player who I could compare him too.

Yes we blatantly broke the cap I’m not ignoring that nor am I ignoring the fact that we won the comp with that side by the Nrl I think by allowing the club to back end contracts or something. But as you pointed the club has managed to re-build itself eight years later and the club has payed for blatant cheating but to many of those who post on this site that is still not enough for christ sakes. Can’terbury and Melbourne got caught. I think others have been lucky or smart enough not to have got caught. Brisbane have been cheating the cap by finding loop holes or the thoroughbreds paying players or providing thirdparty payments or providing their parteners with high paying jobs etc. Easts have apparently been making payments to players in brown paper bags at Mc Donalds stores for ages.

I think SBW did the wrong thing and needs to say sorry before his NRL return however anyone having a go at the roosters and there fans are being ridiculous. Every club and its fans would take him in a heartbeat,anyone saying anything else is not thinking with a clear head.

He has matured now and has a great work ethic. He also has a point to prove.
The combination of his match winning brilliance, the introduction of maloney instead of Anasta, RTS to fullback instead of Mini, and an extra year experience for the youngest team in the comp will skyrocket the roosters to top 4 next year.
Oh and one more thing to add, we will now have a coach next year who the players will respect and be able to get the modern day development they need.
