The Australian understands Robinson, who was at Roosters headquarters yesterday, met Williams while on his off-season holiday and walked away enthused about the prospect of coaching the former Canterbury star.
The same can't be said for his close friend Quade Cooper. The Roosters' newly appointed chief operating officer for football, Brian Canavan, yesterday ruled out a move for the disgruntled Wallabies star, who is yet to strike a new deal with the Australian Rugby Union and has openly spoken of his desire to play rugby league alongside Williams.
"Quade has never been mentioned so I don't think he is on the radar at all," Canavan said. "In that specific situation, you have James Maloney. There is no need for him."
