The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to confirm the signing of young forward Chris Grevsmuhl for the 2014 and 2015 seasons, as well as the contract extension of under 20s captain Cameron McInnes until the end of 2015.
Grevsmuhl, 20, has been a member of the North Queensland Cowboys’ under 20s squad since making his debut as a schoolboy, playing in 53 under 20s matches and scoring 31 tries.
Grevsmuhl, who stands 185cm tall and weighs 106kg, also represented Queensland in the Under 20s State of Origin matches in 2012 and 2013, represented the Junior Kangaroos in 2012, the Australian Schoolboys in 2010, as well as the Queensland under 18s and under 16s sides. Grevsmuhl was also selected in the 2012 Under 20s Team of the Year alongside current Rabbitohs young gun Luke Keary.
Grevsmuhl is comfortable playing front row, second row or lock, and will add size and aggression to the Rabbitohs’ forwards stocks.

McInnes, a South Sydney junior from the Botany Rams Club, captained the Rabbitohs’ under 20s outfit to a finals appearance in 2013, despite being a 19-year-old in an under 20s squad.
McInnes played in all 25 games for the Rabbitohs’ Holden Cup side this year at hooker, scoring 12 tries and kicking 15 goals throughout the season. McInnes was also named in the 2013 Holden Cup Team of the Year.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire is keen to work closely with both of these young players over the next two seasons.
