Will Lewis leave the Panthers?
After 11 years at the Penrith Panthers, Luke Lewis is today expected to stun rugby league by asking for a release.
The Daily Telegraph understands Lewis’s manager will meet Panthers general manager Phil Gould to determine whether the representative star leaves Penrith with two years remaining on his current deal.
It is understood Penrith want to shift Lewis, who has now accepted his future lies at a rival NRL club.
Parramatta, Canterbury and Wests Tigers have been mooted as possible suitors for the champion forward.
Some factions at the Panthers want Lewis to leave immediately, while others believe he should be allowed to see out the season at the club where his career began.
Lewis, 28, was contacted last night but preferred not to comment.

The Daily Telegraph reported that he was seen at the Cronulla Pie Shop yesterday. They didn’t say if he had a coke though. He would be a good aquisition for the Sharkies.

I always thought he would head to cronulla soon as the innuendo started weeks ago. However it will be interesting to see where he goes. Doggies is a realistic option considering Stagg will leave to the Knights and Halatau is rumored to be in Cronulla’s sights aswell. One thing that can be certain is that the Dragons will miss out as they never sign any decent players (well the exception of Vidot).

As a Panthers fan I really hope that Gus and Cleary have some big signings to offset the loss of Lewis, Gordon and probably Jennings. It sucks when your club loses local juniors, and we’ll miss Lewis more than anyone!
Hopefully the rumoured signing of JT is true and if Folau came to Penrith that’d be sweet!
