Will SBW actually make an NRL return?
Interim NRL chief executive Shane Mattiske says he needs to see a contract in his hands before determining whether or not Sonny Bill Williams will be cleared for a return to the game.
Speculation mounted on the weekend that the NRL are considering blocking Williams’ widely-discussed return to rugby league with the Sydney Roosters due to the fact the dual international is managed by non-accredited player agent Khoder Nasser.
Mattiske said no decision had been made on Williams – who walked out on Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs mid-contract in 2008 to take up a big-money offer in rugby union – simply because they had not yet been approached by the Roosters.
“The Roosters understand that if they are to bring Sonny Bill to the game, they need to come and approach us about that,” Mattiske said.
“They need to get to a point where they’ve got a contract they can bring to us for registration – at this stage we’re waiting for that to happen.”

This is one signing I definitely am happy that the Dragons have nothing to do with.
This whole SBW ongoing drama smells like trouble but for the Roosters sake (and I hate the roosters) I hope he at least has a full fit season so he realises that the other game he plays is pathetic & totally a waste of his talent.
I can’t wait for Sonny Bill to come back to the NRL. Hopefully he finishes his career here, and doesn’t leave again. The NRL really needs to learn how to market their company and take the NRL to the next level so we can make much more money, expand have the salary cap increased and continue to attract players of this skill level and popularity. It’s what the NRL needs, it’s what the fans need and it’s what rugby league deserve!
if anything $BW will certainly keep the chat forums warm… for sure anyone who doesnt believe that he will sell rugby L tickets is mistaken, but the ARL needs to make sure he doesnt breeze out if the going gets tough or he gets a better offer $$ like before.

If Money Bill Williams makes a successful return to the NRL he should be given CREDIT for it. He’s been out of the game for a long time, and will find it different from when he played with the Bulldogs. I reckon there will be a few big hitting forwards waiting to smash him, but he’s tough and willing, and his time in the boxing ring should help him rev-up his team mates before each game. I wish you well $BMW. You are a unique individual!!

He’s said that he’s not guna sign anything till he’s finished his stint in Japan playing rugby. So you won’t see or here anything till next year.
Yeah thats what I heard. If Roosters sign him now they’l have to include his income from Japan under their salary cap. Could be bullshit and Sonny aint commiting till last minute if at all
The roosters have lost all credibility as far as I’m concerned. Being held to ransom by one single player. Why isn’t politis so tough now. What ever happened to the team comes first and no one is bigger than the team. Just a matter of time before the train wreck to happens.
Regardless of if and when he williams does sign the contract their is still the matter of Khoder Nasser not being an accredited NRL Player manager which would make any contract williams does sign as worthless as WiLliams’s handshake or word or what ever he has given the roosters.
