Lewis signs four-year deal with Sharks
Penrith Panthers and Australian Test star Luke Lewis has confirmed he has signed a four-year deal with the Cronulla Sharks.
Lewis rang the Sharks this morning to confirm he would be taking up their offer.
He also also telephoned rival clubs the Newcastle Knights, West Tigers and Parramatta Eels to inform them he had signed elsewhere.
It is believed the four-year deal could be worth as much as $1.8 million

Doust, Craig Young (our recruitment officer) and Steve Price should all be sacked right now. They are all looking like a bunch of incompitent fools. They have a job top do but look incapable of signing any decient players. We are on a down hill slide and they are the ones responsible fullstop.

I am hearing that no top playuers are interested in coming to play under Price. I am hearing that player agents don’t like dealing with Craig Young, all he has recruited are 2 average players in Beale and Frizzell and he signed Moltzen only for him to change his mind, I don’t consider Moltzen a top liner.
We have not had a top halfback since Billy Smith and he retired around 75-76 I think, so that makes around 36 years since we had a top halfback, which is the most important position.

We do have a salary cap, and we have the best CEO and management in the comp. BUT players are getting 3rd party deals and also are guarantied a job after footy. So if your players are on 3rd party deals, that the club has organised. Is there any limit to the 3rd party deals that the club can organise to sign these players? If there is no limit well then it looks like the salary cap is non existent and again I am jealous and I am even more upset with our management for not being compitent enough to do the same thing. Ahhh old Todd Carney is off contract next year and a few players would want increased salary eg. I like the panthers side next year. Use will be loosing Gardener whilst playing Gordon who has been out for 2 years and Lewis who misses half the season due to origin and nagging injuries in his neck arms and legs. use have a bad backline next year.

You should give Coote a run at 5/8, I think he played 5/8 for Australian Scoolboys and give Jennings a run at fullback, I think he could be a sensation there as he would be able to pop up anywhere rarther than just staying on one side of the field.

Easy when we are in attack put Jennings into Fullback and when we are in defence put Jennings back into the centers. So pushing coote or maybe Mansour to fullback to catch the kicks than push them onto the wing or in the centers and having Jennings all over the park. 600k is heaps atm but they think the salary cap maybe going up 1 more million so its a good price for one of the best centers in the game (when he gets good ball like he did against the tigers)

If anyone gets hurt next year like a Lewis Gordon Gallen or Carney dont expect to win to many games. Alot of other sides are getting bigger and better not just the sharks. The Cowboys Broncos Rabbits Dogs Tigers Warriors and Roosters are all buying well and have got lots of young talent that will be massive come next year with them having another pre season. Im a Panthers fan and we will be lucky to make the 8 next year. But the Sharks as i said use aint the only club that looks good next year… Well us Panthers have signed some kiwi internationals, a sparky hooker, a city prop, an experianced outside back that can fill in for any outside back.and a young outside back that needs another full off season to bulk up abit. If we dont lose anyone else we should do well.

Cronulla has now finally got pass the stereotype of being one of the nrl average (never really up there) clubs.. to be honest i always knew the shark’s needed a star half like Todd Carney that can also kick goal’s it kinda like a lift they needed they got the strength in the forwards having Paul Gallen and Bryce Gibbs now with Toddy there a team to be reckoned with.. adding Luke Lewis is only gonna add more Experience into the Forward Pack and the team including can see them being a dominate side in the NRL for the following years
