Return to Knights possible
The Newcastle Knights are exploring the prospect of bringing home-grown junior Anthony Quinn back to finish his National Rugby League career where it started.
Homesick after six seasons at the Storm, which included two grand final appearances and one premiership that was later stripped by the NRL, Quinn will return to Newcastle shortly to begin working as an electrician once he completes his TAFE studies in Melbourne.
The former NSW Origin winger has held informal discussions this month with Knights chief executive and former Newcastle teammate Matt Gidley about the possibility of him rejoining the club they both left at the end of 2006.
The Knights have little room to move under the salary cap but the Newcastle Herald has been told they are investigating whether they can include Quinn, pictured, as a second-tier player.

typical getting all the old players, aka retirement villag knights
Get over it
Quinn still has a bit to offer, but at the expense of who? A second tier salary is about the best he will get.
Please please please let this be true!!!
got to be kidding me, we already have aku and mcmanus, with kevvy naquama as backup.
He will be used as a backrower mate.
we’ve already got one of the best back rows in the game. either way he’s a waste of $$$
lol average
He’s not a waste of $$, he’d be a great buy. He plays best at Centre and Second Row plus he’s a strong Winger. He’s 29, still has some years left in him. Not too many out there with his versatility and strength. A very underrated player. I hope Knights get him back.

I think joey , the chief and butter field want to play again , I think we should resign them all on 5 year deal
He’s a tough unit with a lot of mongrel in him. Will keep players on their toes for their positions which can only be a good thing. Knights need more depth.

Better off he goes to England
I wonder weather this is just insurance if they can’t afford to keep uate or Kevin next year be a great buy though
It’s looking like a sad state of affairs when u keep on signing guys who are either past their use by date, or approaching it.
overrated?? LMAO idiots have no idea of the game these days
Alan you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. His wife’s father is sick with cancer. They have wanted to go back for years. Local clubs have stated that he’s still an NRL player. The Storm offered him a contract for next year and he didn’t take it. Check your facts buddy.
Storm didn’t offer him a new contract at all we have O’neill, Duffy, Waqa, Fonua all in front of him as well as Tonumaipea and Auva’a coming up from our under 20′s.
Have always rated Quinny. Stronger than most front rowers.
bennett is desperate he just buys any player he can snag no cattle no premiership hey bennett
why dont you come up with something a bit more original. you act like bennett is the only coach in the NRL who recruits new players
Finishing his career in NSW Cup dont find this news worthy.
Yet you read and commented on it. Lol.
Yeah cause i support the Knights why are you reading and commenting?? Bored of life in the off season
I just find it funny when people obviously read an article and then go so far as to comment and say its not newsworthy. I also support the Knights and home grown juniors… Not bored in the off season just supporting a local who has done a lot for the game. Thanks for asking.
He’ll be cheap and worth his weight in gold just like Mason. Stoked your coming home Quinny! Ignore the haters, this site is full of couch heroes.
why dont bennett buy tinkler and use him as a prop i hear he could do with the ca$h
What the hell for..?
Actually guys he is not a Newcastle home grown Junior. He is actually a Penrith Junior. He actually played with St Clair.
Quinn is definitely an underrated player. The man hits as hard as some of the best second-rowers. He’s a quality player can probably cover 1 through to 13. I would have him on the bench playing an impact role.
