Brother Wes is leaving but Kev hopes to stay
Newcastle Knights winger Kevin Naiqama, who is off contract at the end of this year, says he hopes to remain at the Club and continue playing under coach Wayne Bennett.
“I am still talking with the Club and hopefully I can wrap that (contract) up in the next couple of weeks, I definitely want to stay,” Naiqama said.
“Wayne has brought out the best in me, I have been playing my best footy this year.”
If Naiqama re-signs with the Knights, he will part ways with older brother Wes, who has signed a two-year contract with Penrith.
The two played together at the St George Illawarra Dragons and they both moved to Newcastle in 2008.
“I have always been on the back-burner compared to Wes and I am not getting any younger,” the younger brother said.
“I have to make a name for myself and sort out my own future.
“I would have wanted him to stay but it is a good opportunity for him to go to Penrith.
“It is sad he is going but I wish him all the best.”

That’s easy kev just ask ” the messiah “..! Though just remember even if you do sign on to stay a knight that doesn’t guarantee you anything..!
come to penrith with your brother.
One look at this guy and the tremendous development he has shown physiclly and mentally tells you he has IT.The knights would be crazy not to sign him long term with the view of making him a one team player. All that and a great ‘front’ man for media interviews as well.
