Moving to the Shire
St George Illawarra Dragons’ prop, Jon Green, is joining Wests Tigers props Andrew Fifita and Bryce Gibbs at the Cronulla Sharks next season.
Green, 25, played lower grades for the Sharks, but made his NRL debut with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in 2006. Green has played a total of 41 games since joining the Dragons in 2008. He has played his best football this season, making 13 appearances while averaging 73 metres per game along with 24 tackles.
After losing 2011 starting props Luke Douglas and Kade Snowden to rival clubs, the Sharks have been active in trying to fill the hole left by their departure. The Sharks have also recently signed Mark Taufua from the Newcastle Knights and Parramatta Eels halfback Jeff Robson along with Gold Coast Titans mid-season transfer Sam Tagataese.

we need outside backs not crap props when we need try scoring wingers and centres
I’m not an expert but I would of thought the Sharks were in need of backline flare rather than some additional forwards
i know we need a great quick centre to take best’s spot. and to give us some attacking flair, who can finish off good and that would be great help for Gardner kelly graham mills robson/ townsend gordan and stapleton

Also if don’t sign a centre i would either have frizell or peachey in that position or the one who doesn’t get the spot either on the bench at 17
Signing Jon Green is just what the club needed. He would not be the best of props but he will get the job done especially coming cheap. Plus for the past two years he has worked with Wayne Bennett. Sharks have wasted there money on Jeff Robson, Wade Graham and Anthony Tupou. With Chad Townsend now in first grade there was no need to have Jeff Robson signed. Tupou needs to be released after signing Sam Tagataese. He is on $400,000 and has not been in great form since coming over. Graham is over rated and should be dropped. You cut these three players and that will give the club a great chance to sign quailty backs. If the rumour is right then the Sharks should chase Daniel Vidot.
