Eels admit Folau a target
High-priced GWS recruit Israel Folau is set to leave the Giants, and the AFL, two years into his revolutionary code-changing adventure.
The former Australian rugby league representative is on the verge of joining the Parramatta Eels under former NSW State of Origin coach Ricky Stuart.
However, Parramatta have denied signing Folau but admit he is a target now that he is available.
It is understood the Eels have made contact with his manager and will be keen to snap him up to bolster their backline after finishing with the NRL wooden spoon in 2012.
I hope the Tigers sign him. Korabete is the only decent winger at the Tigers theses days.
I hope he goes to England, France, Japan or anywhere where we don’t have to hear from him again.
Izzy is one of the best Players? It would be great to have him back, not further away..

if he does, in 2014 the eels will have a hot backline. And will have the most attacking potential thats been seen in the last 10 years. I think this year will be tough for them, hindmarsh was a standout and they will struggle without him, but expect big things from 2014

If Folau goes to Parramatta with Will Hopoate coming back the following year & Hayne at fullback (he wont have to try to do it all himself), they will have a hell of a backline.

Barba, Sio, Hopoate, Folau, Blair, Hayne, Sandow. Its not bad, potentially very good. Its just by the time they have decent forwards to go with them, the backline will be retired.
Good luck to the Eels if they get Folau, but remember, if the forwards can’t shape up, it doesn’t matter who you have in your backline.
Agree with Chalkie…izzzy will be a great assat but if the forwards don’t get it together then they are nothing!

When it was first mooted that $BW was going to rejoin the League ranks I recall that the former head David Gallop wanted a meeting with $BW to ensure that his intentions were clear and ‘honest’, will John Grant request a similar meeting with IZZY to ensure that his intentions of returning to RL are clear and honourable?.
Depth will be parra’s problem next year like the panthers this year but they have the players to beat any of the top teams on their day
