The type of player Elliott will target
New Zealand Warriors coach Matt Elliott has dropped his biggest hint yet of the players he’s looking to entice to the club.
While not confirming anything, Elliott says the likes of off-contract Wests Tigers centre Blake Ayshford and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs half Trent Hodkinson are the type of players he’s got in his sights.
He says they’re certainly players they’ll be looking at.
Ayshford needs to go to the dragons!
Make sure that the Tigers have actually released Blake first before you get your hopes up to much. You don’t what a repeat of the Tim Moltzen saga.

True. I believe that the Tigers acted in an unprofessional manner in the Tim Moltzen saga. Tim and his manager were also hugely to blame as well.
Hey Swiss, do you like cheese or chocolate? What is wrong with Peter Doust? He was largely responsible for getting W. Bennett to the club and win a comp. What else do you want him to do? Seems to me that he’s the whipping boy if the Dragons don’t have a good season. I suggest you go to the Dragons website and watch his interview with John Stanley. You might be surprised at how intelligent and resourceful he is. Open your mind and ears instead of jumping on the “Oust Doust” bandwagon. We could do a lot worse for a CEO.
Don’t think warriors need to recruit players they just need a coach that will take no poo poo and get the best out of his charges.. God damn it there’s plenty of talent there just not a coach and Elliot is sure as hell not the answer..!
It is obvious that they were missing leadership and experience last season. Ayshford will be a good pick up, would prefer Michael Jennings
Why would Elliot want to recruit hodginkson when he already has the likes of Johnson, Godinet and the halfback that played U20′s under contract.

Jordan Meads was the player whose name I couldn’t think of. As pointed out by others Elliot also has leulali and tuimavave on his books. Hodginkson I imagine would just be surplus. I just hope elliot doesn’t do a bennett and take a razor to his roster just because he can.

i think so too, they splashed way too much on adam blair, but with garreth ellis gone and all the rest like ryan and heighington etc not too sure why they are still struggling, they still haven’t resigned a few of their youngsters comming through as well, somethings definately up

Panthers 70 With his reported 650.000 a year contract I don’t think any club will want to sign Jennings. Any club that does sign Jennings will automatically be tagged by that clubs rival supporters rightly or wrongly as having broken the cap. 650.000 way to high of a price tag even for someone as talented as Jennings.

Panthers70 SBW hasn’t signed a contract with the roosters for next year he just has a handshake agreement that way if at some stage in 2013 he decides to get up and leave town in the middle of night without telling anybody he can’t be held accountable. Remember Money Dill Williams doesn’t sign contracts he breaks them. But the roosters club and their supporters shouldn’t worry because Money Bill has given his word that he will honour his handshake agreement and as history has shown Money Dill Williams never reneges on his word contract or no contract

if you ask me, inglis on 1 mil is better then having jennings on 650k. With inglis you get one of the best players in the game, and with jennings you get a superstar nsw cup player who pulls off the rare 4 pointer. thats just my opinion.

Panthers Girl, why did you change your name to Panthers70? And FYI Jennings played more than 1 NSW Cup game, he was dropped for a month. And on top of that he played 2 Cup games last year due to poor form and disciplinary issues
