Return to Dragons an option
Ex-Dragon Rangi Chase is weighing up a return to the NRL next season with the St George Illawarra Dragons.
The 26-year-old Super League playmaker’s move from the Castleford Tigers to Hull FC fell through last week due to visa problems, according to the British press.
The 2011 Man of Steel, the award for the Super League’s player of the year, told London’s Daily Star he was happy to stay at Castleford unless the Dragons put up a good offer.
“I have got a young family so I have to do the best for them, if the deal isn’t right, I am happy to stay at Cas,” Chase said.
“I fell in love with the club and I still have them close to my heart.”
Dragons best option. Considering the lack of quality halves off contract.
Let’s just hope he has become more of a consistent and more creative player than he was when last with the Dragons. Maybe the solution to our attacking problems. we will see i suppose. Late mail also Adam Quinlan from the u20′s is seriously considering an offer from the Knights for next season onwards. Don’t figure we lose old boy’s Hornby, Young & Scott to what i thought was to keep the juniors coming through but since then we lost a forward to Manly and maybe Adam. What’s happening mr Doust??????

I don’t want to be arrogant but you are wrong. Rangi is playing probably the his best footy and rates up high even by NRL standards. Packed on some weight and runs the line hard (unlike others). Would be happy to see him come on back….
Would be fascinated to see how the “Man of Steel” handled a return to the NRL.

I have seen chase play numerous times and he really was too hot and cold way too inconsistent yeah he does SOME good things but far out he does some really silly things.. I think we need a good no 7 with a great footy brain and vision only problem I just don’t where or who he is..!

Puppy firstly just like IH8cheatingbullgrubs time to move on from the Bulldogs salary cap fiasco. Secondly unless you have proof that the dogs were guilty re Coffs Harbour Rape allegations I suggest you keep your mouth shut. I think Chase would be great on a 1 year deal, unfortunately i don’t think Chase will leave for a deal that short, but however short term for attack i do believe we need him, at least till we sign a great halfback
