Manly Sea Eagles assistant and former Parramatta Eels caretaker coach Brad Arthur has emerged as a possible replacement for Neil Henry. The North Queensland Cowboys board is running out of patience with Henry and are likely to act within the next fortnight or so if there’s not a dramatic and immediate improvement in the team’s form.

Arthur may have a low profile but has earned the respect of players everywhere he’s gone. He is particularly strong in the defensive department – an area NQ desperately need shoring up. For evidence of his capabilities, look no further than Manly’s defensive record this year.
Arthur was talked about as a chance for the St George Illawarra Dragons job before they (prematurely in my book) extended Steve Price’s stay. The Sea Eagles are desperate to retain Arthur but won’t stand in his way if an NRL gig comes calling.
