The Parramatta Eels have released a statement concerning a story published in the Daily Telegraph last Sunday regarding Corey Norman.

The article suggested that Corey Norman had been spotted in dubious company on the Central Coast. The Daily Telegraph today issued a correction and an apology after it was established the person was in fact not Norman.

The Parramatta Eels have welcomed today’s correction in the Daily Telegraph regarding a story published on Sunday August 21.

The Club would like to thank the management of the Daily Telegraph for following up our concerns and providing the below response once the facts were established.

The Club now considers the matter closed and we will make no further comment.

An article in The Sunday Telegraph on August 21 incorrectly reported that Parramatta Eels five-eighth Corey Norman had been recently spotted on the Central Coast in dubious company.

The person was not Norman and The Telegraph apologises for any hurt and embarrassment it may have caused.

Norman, 25, last week re-signed with the Eels for a further three years.
